| Lansing Christian School is currently seeking additional bus drivers to drive a morning run to Brighton, sporting events and on field trips. Each driver must possess a commercial driver’s license with a passenger (P) endorsement and a school bus (S) endorsement from the Secretary of State. They must also have attended a beginning bus drivers training course thru the Department of Education (the school can help set this up) and possess the yellow card showing that their certification is current. Drivers are also required to have an annual commercial driver’s physical with a card that is current. Driver’s schedules are flexible based on the School’s needs and the driver’s preference. Pay rate begins at $8.00 an hour and is based on experience. All employees of Lansing Christian School are fingerprinted and background checks are performed. Lansing Christian School is currently seeking afterschool childcare staff for the 2010/2011 school year. This person will work in the Afterschool Care program. Applicant must be at least 18 years old and possess or be willing to obtain before starting the following: TB Test, complete blood-borne pathogen training, medical clearance, and central registry clearance. It is preferred that applicant have adult/child/infant CPR & First Aid certification. The schedule will be from 3:00-5:30 or 6:00 daily with some flexibility. Compensation is based on experience. This position will involve a variety of duties. They will be as assigned and based on qualifications but could include: mowing, landscaping and grounds maintenance; minor repairs to facilities and painting; custodial support which includes cleaning of building areas, bathrooms sanitizing and cleaning, trash removal, and vacuuming; assisting with set-up, preparation, monitoring, and general care of the building. Qualifications required include: general and basic maintenance and mechanical knowledge; knowledge of cleaning; acceptable personal characteristics such as neat appearance, attendance, judgment, human relations, enthusiasm, and appropriate dress; ability to work with minimum supervision; must be in good health, able to lift 40 lbs; must be able to operate small machinery such as a lawn mower or floor scrubber. Compensation is in the range of $7.50 to $9.50 an hour and is based on qualifications and experience. The hours will be as needed for substituting and various projects. The successful candidate will also be a strongly committed Christian with a desire to serve the Lansing Christian community. The application deadline is June 15.
