Director of Building and Grounds

Lansing Christian School is currently seeking a Director of Building and Grounds to advance the mission of LCS through strategic management of the School’s Facilities.  This position oversees and manages the areas of facility, equipment and grounds maintenance, renovations, custodial services, construction and special projects. 

The Director of Buildings and Grounds will oversee the custodial, maintenance and grounds employees as well as hire and direct subcontractors. Candidates need to possess strong organization and planning skills, and effective communication skills.  Candidates must be hardworking and a self-starter that enjoys working on multiple projects with multiple people. 

A successful/optimal candidate should show relevant experience in successfully directing and supervising others.  They will also need basic knowledge in the areas of facility cleaning, electrical, mechanical, carpentry and landscaping. Experience in contract management and/or project management is a plus. Qualified candidates must be committed to the mission of Christian education and Lansing Christian School’s Belief Statement. Kindergarten Teacher

Personal qualifications:  Recognizing that Lansing Christian School is strongly committed to the Christian faith, we seek a teacher whose passion is uniting their faith with a love for working with elementary students and the ability to cultivate a positive and engaging educational environment.

Professional qualifications:  We are seeking a full-time kindergarten teacher with effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other learning professionals. Experience in the areas of math, science, and outdoor learning is preferred. Candidates should have active Michigan teaching certification and elementary teaching experience. Applicants should demonstrate a commitment to student-centered instruction and a growth mindset toward their practice.

Substitute Teaching

Lansing Christian School is seeking applicants for substitute teachers for all grade levels (preschool-12th grade). Applicants should have 60 hours of college credit. Education background is preferred but not necessary.

Food Service Team Member

Lansing Christian School is currently seeking food service team members. Duties will include food preparation, serving lunch, operating a point-of-sale terminal, stocking, and cleaning. All food service team members must be able to lift 30 pounds and be able to stand for extended periods of time. The schedule may vary but typical hours are from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. This position is approximately a day a week and as needed as a substitute. Compensation is based on experience.
