LCS Stories

Claire – 12th Grade

What do you love about LCS?

One of the things that I love about Lansing Christian is the teachers. They are some of the most caring and genuine people. They truly want to help with our education and our relationship with God.

Describe one of your favorite teachers and tell why he/she is a favorite

Miss Joos is one of my favorite teachers because she has made an impact on my faith and provided a lot of insight into what it means to be a Christian in today’s world. In terms of academics, she always strives to help students understand what they are learning, while also encouraging them to think through a problem.

In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at LCS?

I have grown in my faith thanks to my teachers’ encouragement and wisdom. Chapels also cause students to think and ask questions about God and Christianity, pushing them to learn more about God.

How do you live and learn in Christian community?

The Christian community at LCS is one of the strongest and most influential communities I have ever been a part of. Being around people who hold the same basic beliefs as you is helpful in that it allows us all to grow together.

How do you feel that LCS is preparing you for graduation, college and life?

LCS has prepared me for college with challenging classes that help me to learn time management, discipline, and determination. I feel as though I will be prepared to handle a college workload. LCS has helped me to learn how to be a Christian in the world and how to defend my faith.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation, I plan to attend either MSU or University of Wisconsin to study Communications and Public Relations. I would like to be actively involved in whatever community I live in, because LCS has taught me to love the people around me as Christ loves them too.
