LCS Stories

Sydney – 10th Grade

  • I am currently involved in Tennis, Book Club, and Volleyball.
  • The best part of my day is getting the opportunity in every class to learn and grow my knowledge of the world around me by asking questions.
  • I was proud to be able to play up on the varsity volleyball team for Districts last year. The other varsity players were very welcoming and pushed me to work harder to become a better player.
  • In my free time, I am passionate about reading and creative writing. I enjoy listening to music and playing piano as well. Also, I like to spend time with my family and volunteer at the Humane Society when I get the chance.
  • The teachers at LCS are passionate about what they teach and it shows in the way they engage with their students one-on-one and make their classroom a safe space to learn and grow, not just as a student, but as a person.
  • Ever since I started coming to LCS in Kindergarten, I have been encouraged to live a life that is modeled after Jesus’. This has pushed me to act in love, not in hate, make kindness a habit, and seek wisdom in God’s word.
  • I love that LCS has PreK-12 in one building because it allows us to build community with each other and enforces the fact that we are all a part of God’s kingdom and we are each other’s family.
  • After LCS, I hope to major in child psychology one day and go on to be a counselor for troubled teens. I have had some struggles in my life that have made me more aware of the fact that millions of kids feel the same way. If I can pursue a career that allows me to help them, I would be very happy.
