Where Have You Seen God at Work?

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.” – Matthew 5:14-16

Mrs. Vaughan asks her first graders each week, “where have you seen God work?” This is a great question. Where have we seen God work? Governor Whitmer has closed schools for the rest of the year, we are isolated from each other, people are sick, and parents aren’t able to work. Even in this, God is working. His redemptive and restorative work has not ceased – He is working.

I have seen it in the graciousness of our parents in the middle of a difficult time. I have seen it in the “can-do” attitude of our teachers as they transition to a different mode of teaching. I have seen it in our students as they have found ways to bless others with sidewalk chalk drawings and cards. How have you seen God work? How is your family part of God’s restoration work here and now. Let’s share these stories with each other. Let’s shine the light of God’s love to others.

Shining God’s Love

In response to to Mrs. Awokuse’s art lesson on creating cards to encourage others, one elementary family is spreading God’s love by sending 35 hand crafted cards to a nursing home in Ohio. Thank you for shining the light of God’s love to others!
