RETREAT AND SPIRIT WEEK

by Andrew Kleyn, Middle School and High School Principal

Over the last two years, the pandemic has highlighted the need for community. Cultivating Christian Community is a core value of LCS, and we have a number of practices and events that contribute to this value. This past year, we were blessed to return to Camp Geneva in Holland for our Middle and High School Retreats. During this time, students and staff draw closer to God and closer to one another, and, together, to dedicate the year to God.

Spirit Week is another meaningful way to cultivate community. Students come together to participate in events and activities and share their God-given gifts through projects like poster, designing hallways spaces, and performing songs. The week culminated in Homecoming, where many current and former LCS families cheered the varsity basketball teams to victory and recognized the positive Christian ideals in students. These events are so significant in drawing the community closer together and pointing to God’s goodness and faithfulness to Lansing Christian School.
