Distinguished Alumni Award
The Distinguished Alumni Award is given each year to an alumnus who exemplifies integrity and Christian character whether on the job, at home, or in the community. They have also remained loyal to LCS through their partnership with the school in a variety of ways. The 2020 recipients of the Annual Distinguished Alumni Award is Patrick Bisher.
Patrick is a man who is no stranger to overcoming challenges. As a boy at LCS he had a disease that destroyed his hip bone and its socket, and was told he would not walk again. That diagnosis did not hold Patrick back. While at LCS Patrick participated in basketball, soccer, school plays, and Missions trip, never being held back by his physical challenges. If anything, he was determined to overcome them by his desire to just be, “normal” as he put it.
His long – term goal to become a Navy SEAL was fulfilled after high school. Despite a parachuting accident and hip replacement, he was able to continue as a SEAL for 8 ½ years in Naval Special Warfare. He saw combat in Iraq and ultimately received the Army Commendations Medal, among other awards.
Patrick then entered the work force with GM and a few other companies mentoring and teaching the concept of teamwork in business. But He believed God was leading him to do more. He has written a book, No Surrender: Faith, Family, and Finding your Way which shares the lessons he learned on and off the battlefield and offers inspiration to all who’ve faced adversity.
Today, Patrick is a Navy SEAL Mentor and Leadership Consultant with Bisher Consulting, giving clients GRIT through a mentoring program. He and his wife Nicole have 3 children, a son Isaiah in the 4th grade at LCS, and 2 other children, Corey and Lilah.
