Senior Trip, May 19-23, 2023:
Once again, the seniors will have the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC in May before they graduate. Washington, DC is an excellent location for a school trip as it provides opportunities for many areas of interest including government, history, art, biology, sports, culture, etc. Because much of what we do on the trip is centrally located and has free admission, we are able to do a lot while also keeping the cost of the trip down. This is also a trip that LCS knows well and has done successfully in the past, and we are confident that this year’s Senior Trip will be another great experience for our students.
The details of the trip are still being worked out, but here are some of the things we are hoping to do either as a whole group or as small group options:
- Tour the Capitol
- Tour the White House
- The Holocaust Museum
- A night tour of the monuments in Washington including Lincoln, FDR, WWII, Vietnam Memorials
- The Smithsonian Museums
- A major league baseball game
- The National Archives
- Arlington National Cemetery and Tomb of the Unknown Soldier
- Washington Monument
- National Zoo

Junior Trip, May 20-23, 2023:
During second semester, the junior class will be taking a field trip to Gettysburg, PA. We will be staying in Gettysburg and spending two days exploring the battlefield and museum. While on this trip we will take a side excursion to Harper’s Ferry, WV. It is the site of a famous attempted slave rebellion before the Civil War. We will also visit the site of the pivotal battle of Antietam in Maryland. Before the trip we will spend three weeks studying these events. As it is a wonderful part of our junior history curriculum, student attendance is expected (with any exceptions needing Mr. Batson’s approval). What a fabulous opportunity for some hands on learning! More information coming soon.
Cost: $450
