LCS Assistant Athletic Director
Reports to: Athletic Director
Supervises: Youth Referees, Student Office Aides (if applicable), volunteers, and game-day staff. Purpose/Overview
The Assistant Athletic Director is responsible for supporting athletic-related needs, specifically for Youth and Middle School students and parents, under the direction of the Athletic Director.

and its mission.
● Relational: Maintains a warm and friendly personality that fosters positive relationships with students, staff, parents, alumni, and athletic department staff at other schools.
● Mission-Driven: Views the position as an opportunity to connect with students on a spiritual level, pointing them to Christ and adhering to the mission of Lansing Christian School.
Responsibilities
● Represent LCS as the initial point of contact (phone, email, and face-to-face) for athletics.
● Provide support to the Athletic Director, including but not limited to: managing student physicals and “Privit” information, coordinating team photos, organizing pre- and postseason meetings, and handling driver authorization and van scheduling.
● Assist in managing concessions and ticket sales, including maintaining inventory and ordering supplies as needed.
● Under the direction of the Athletic Director, create and assist with scheduling (including rescheduling and proofing) all athletic contests for Lansing Christian Youth, Middle School, and High School programs.
● Manage LCS athletic facility availability in relation to scheduled contests and other internal/external events; schedule external sites as needed.
● Identify solutions for scheduling conflicts and location needs in coordination with the Athletic Director.
● Create and manage volunteer scheduling.
● Manage summer athletic camp registrations, facility needs, and staffing.
● Ensure athletic contests are appropriately staffed with game managers and officials.
● Create athletic programs for home contests.
● Organize and manage youth sports, including volunteer coach recruitment, registrations, communication, and oversight of contests. Duties and Tasks
● Answer phones, respond to emails, and review mail relevant to athletic and facility scheduling.
● Communicate with coaches to receive input regarding the scheduling of games andpractices.
● Create and manage team rosters and eligibility lists for each sport.
● Assist the athletic department with photography and social media.
● Develop an athletic calendar for each sport in coordination with the Athletic Director, coaches, and opposing schools; manage contest contracts.
● Maintain accurate athletic calendars across all platforms, including internal calendars, the LCS website, and MHSAA/ScheduleStar.
● Work with assignors to ensure all games have officials; maintain clear communication with officials and ensure they are paid through the official pay system or via the business office.
● Attend athletic director meetings when requested to take notes and stay informed on scheduling and assignor updates.
● Prepare payment requests and submit appropriate paperwork for athletic tournaments.
● Set up and monitor “Sign-up Genius” for athletic contests; work with the Athletic Director to recruit additional volunteers as needed.
● Ensure guest Wi-Fi passes are available for visiting coaches during home games.
● Maintain awareness of the facility calendar to identify conflicts between athletics and other school events; provide facility staff with necessary event information.
● Maintain the athletic facilities schedule and use forms, ensuring copies are provided to necessary staff.
Qualifications
● A mature and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, evident through lifestyle and testimony.
● Agreement with and commitment to the LCS Doctrinal Statement, and faithful attendance at a local church whose doctrine and practices align with that statement.
● Belief in the Bible as the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God and the standard for daily living.
● College degree with experience in athletics.
● Technology aptitude and literacy skills, including data management.
