Creating Artists

As image bearers of a creative God, it is important for students to be able to create art that honors God and enriches our world. Visual art opportunities begin in preschool and continue through 12th grade.

Art Classes

LCS PreK-8th grade students engage in Art classes weekly. At the high school level, students select from Sculpture/Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Creative Entrepreneurship, Yearbook, Mixed Media, and Advanced Art class offerings.

Creative Arts Nights

LCS enjoys two Creative Arts Nights in the spring. During the Middle and High School Creative Arts night, student work is showcased in the commons and families enjoy performances by MS/HS choirs and bands. During the PreK-5th grade Creative Arts Night, elementary student art is on display and the community is invited to attend a musical performance where students demonstrate what they have learned in their music classes.

Art Competitions

Each year, high school students participate in the MSUFCU Art Competition, a local art competition where students display their best work and see excellent work from other schools. Winners of this competition receive a monetary award or scholarship.
