Vision
Lansing Christian School (LCS) is committed to equipping young men and women to engage and transform the world for Jesus Christ.
Core Values
Our core values reflect what we are doing and direct how we behave at every level of our school in order to achieve our vision to equip young men and women to engage and transform the world for Jesus Christ.
We Glorify God in All of Life
Knowing God, loving His Word, and living for Him are the foundation for everything we do at Lansing Christian School. We seek to live our faith in our relationships, our character, and our service.
We Honor God through Excellence
Striving for excellence is expected from all members of the Lansing Christian School community. We foster excellence in academic, co-curricular, and extracurricular programs.
We Live and Learn in Christian Community
Cultivating caring and respectful relationships is integral to every aspect of school life. We prepare students to flourish as they discover and develop their God-given gifts and abilities. We teach, model, and practice servant leadership.
We Partner with Christian Parents
Lansing Christian School exists to assist parents in building a strong Christian foundation for their children. We serve Christian families who desire a Christ-centered education for their children.
School Verse: That they might set their hope in God. Psalm 78:7
History: Lansing Christian School was established in 1951 by a group of families who had a vision for a Preschool-12 Christian school that would be vigorously academic and thoroughly Christian. For more than half a century LCS has partnered with Christian parents. Now we see alumni bringing their children, and even grandchildren, for a Christian education that transforms and inspires lives.
Enrollment: LCS is a day school with grades Preschool-12. The community includes 585 students and 42 faculty. The student/faculty ratio of 14:1 allows for caring and positive working relationships with the teachers. The school operates with pre-school, elementary, middle and high school on a single secure campus. Our students come from more than 70 different churches and 20 public school districts. Approximately 20% of our students receive tuition assistance annually.
Location: 3405 Belle Chase Way, in Delhi Township, Lansing, Michigan near the corner of Jolly Road and Dunckel Road within 10 minutes of Michigan State University and downtown Lansing.
Academics: Learning at Lansing Christian School is both rigorous and relevant. Technology is integrated throughout the grade levels to facilitate and advance learning. The annual scores of seniors on the ACT are well above the state and national averages and many Advanced Placement (AP) classes are offered. On average, 95% of graduates continue on to higher education. Learn more about LCS’s Academics.
Spiritual Life: Faith is integrated into everything we do at LCS. Students regularly attend Bible classes, worship together in chapel, and grow together in classroom devotions and prayer. In addition, throughout the curriculum, a biblical world view is integrated into their studies. In every classroom students learn from Christian teachers that model faith and help students to know God by learning about His world.
Service: We believe that students learn to love God by living in relationship with Him throughout the school day, and students learn to serve God through meaningful learning experiences that allow students to use their learning to serve the needs of others. To that end, we teach our students that serving others is a normal part of the Christian life. We provide intentional service programs designed to inspire hearts for service at all grade levels.
Parent partnership: LCS partners with parents in the education of their children. We warmly encourage parent involvement in the school. Thousands of volunteer hours by parents every year make the school a success.
Accreditation: Lansing Christian School is accredited in partnership with Christian Schools International. Lansing Christian School was awarded five-year reaccreditation in January 2023.
Governance: LCS is owned and operated by the Lansing Christian School Association, to which all parents automatically belong. The Association elects nine School Board members to the Board of Trustees who are responsible to the Association for the school’s operation.
