Lansing Christian School Begins 2026-2027 School Year Fully Staffed, Fully Funded and Fully Committed to Its Educational Mission
$2.5 million in new donor support ensures long-term financial stability

LANSING, MI – Monday, August 24 marks the first day of school for the 2026-2027 school year at Lansing Christian School with students and parents eager to return to a school fully staffed from Preschool to 12th grade, fully funded for the near and long term, and fully committed to its educational mission and theme for the year, “The joy of the Lord is our strength.”
The Lansing Christian School community faced transition and disruption throughout the spring semester of 2026, with many families and teaching staff choosing to find educational opportunities at other schools. But as challenges were presented, opportunities and blessings became clear.
Most significant, $2.5 million in newly identified donor support has been committed to the school’s direction and mission, ensuring the school’s annual budget is stable for the coming school year and years to come. These pledges make whole the school’s financial planning as work continues to grow enrollment and welcome new families and students to LCS.
“In challenging times, it can often be hard to see the blessings God is providing all around us,” said Dr. Jeremy Zajicek, LCS Head of School. “We’ve articulated a clear vision for our school, that we are committed to being spiritually rich and academically excellent, and many generous, faithful people have stepped forward to help protect and promote that vision.”
The leadership of LCS has worked daily throughout the summer to identify and hire highly qualified teachers, ensuring that all grades and classes from Preschool to 12th grade are led by outstanding educators. This includes the recruitment and placement of key school leaders to head the elementary, middle and high schools, as well as the business office.
In addition to advances in school staffing, school leadership has also announced for the coming school year:
- “Off and Away All Day” Cellphone Policy: Implemented across both middle and high schools to foster focused learning and meaningful connection.
- Consolidated Weekly Chapel: A single, extended service designed to provide greater time and depth for spiritual formation.
- Continued AP Offerings: Eight Advanced Placement (AP) courses remain available to our high school students, maintaining our commitment to rigorous academic standards.
- Enhanced Bible Courses & Spiritual Formation: Introduction of a new high school Bible scope and sequence and a new Spiritual Leadership elective.
- Strengthened Science Curriculum: Revision of the high school science course sequence, and implementation of a new K–12 science curriculum based upon a biblical worldview.
- Academic Support and Enrichment (ASE): Formerly ESS, ASE expands our focus to pair targeted academic support with helping every student reach their Godgiven potential through individualized strategies and enrichment opportunities.
“The first day of school means something different for us this year,” Zajicek said. “There were some formerly within our school community who vocally wished and actively worked so we would not make it to this day. Not only have we made it, we, through God’s direction and blessing, are a stronger and more cohesive community committed to the work we have ahead for our students.”
“Our school theme for the year is a Bible verse from Nehemiah (8:10) that says, ‘The joy of the Lord is our strength.’ He is, has been, and will continue to be our strength, and on that, we are excited to start this new school year!”
