Visual Arts

At Lansing Christian School, students are invited to explore a variety of media, develop technical competence, and create work that honors God and enriches the world. Through studio practice, exhibition, and creative celebration, students learn visual literacy, perseverance, and the joy of reflecting God’s beauty and wonder in their art.

Art Instruction Preschool-12th Grade

In Preschool through 8th grade, students engage in weekly art classes that introduce foundational artistic skills, creative exploration, and disciplined expression.

In High School, students choose from a rich selection of studio offerings, including Sculpture/Ceramics, Drawing, Painting, Mixed Media, Advanced Art, Creative Entrepreneurship, and Yearbook, equipping them with deeper artistic understanding and professional skills.

Celebrating Student Work

Each spring, our school comes together for Creative Arts Nights where student work is exhibited and celebrated. Elementary students display their art and share what they have learned in music classes. Middle and High School students’ work is showcased throughout the Commons with accompanying performances by choirs and bands.

Art Competitions

High school artists have the opportunity to participate in local competitions such as the MSUFCU Art Competition, where they display their best work, engage with peers from other schools, and often earn awards or scholarships.
