LCS Middle Schoolers Compete in MathCounts

On Friday, February 2, 2024, 12 LCS middle school students competed at the MATHCOUNTS Capital Area Chapter Competition at Michigan State University.

MATHCOUNTS is a national middle school mathematics competition that builds problem-solving skills and fosters achievement through four levels of “bee” style contests. Students spent a full day competing on campus and were able to get a further taste of the college experience with lunch at a MSU dining hall.

Congratulations to our 8th graders, who tied for 2nd place in the team round and placed 4th overall. A special shout-out to 8th grader Nick Mudrey for winning 2nd place in the Countdown Round and qualifying for States! Congratulations to all of the students who worked for weeks to prepare for this fun and challenging competition.
