LCS Stories
Emma – 10th Grade
Why do you love LCS?
I love that we are allowed and encouraged to grow in our relationship with God. Chapels and Bible classes challenge us to grow in our faith and will sometimes start discussions among the students outside of school. Another aspect of LCS that I love is the people. The teachers are fantastic and extremely encouraging. They want you to succeed, not only in their classes, but in all areas of your life. The students are very friendly. Since the school is smaller, you get to know your classmates very well, which leads to a wonderful sense of community.
Name one of your favorite teachers. Why is he or she a favorite?
Mr. Anderson is an amazing teacher. He applies every lesson in class to our walk with God. He is a great example to his students outside of the classroom too. He has a sincere desire to follow God and for every person to know God personally.
In what ways have you grown in your faith as a result of your experience at LCS?
There are many people at LCS who encourage us to grow in our relationship with God. Chapel and Bible classes are also a great opportunity to learn more about God. Retreats and after-school prayer help us as students to grow together as a Christian community.
How do you live and learn in Christian community?
We are able to openly discuss matters concerning our relationship with God. It is great to be able to pray for and with one another and to encourage each other. It’s really cool being at school with people who want to see us grow closer to God.
How do you feel that LCS is preparing you for graduation, college and life?
The classes at LCS are challenging and engaging. This prepares us by teaching us good time management and other necessary skills that we will need in college and in our future careers.
What are your plans after graduation?
After graduation, I will probably go to college, but I am praying and waiting for God to show me what to do.
