LCS Stories

The Mitchell Family

How many children do you have at LCS and what grades are they in?
We have three daughters at LCS, in 6th, 9th, and 11th grade.

What do you value about LCS?
The faith-based learning, the wonderful staff, and the small class sizes. Lansing Christian has been an enormous blessing to our family. We are so thankful for the education our kids are getting and the wonderful friends they’ve made. The teachers (and all the staff!) truly love the Lord, which is clear to see in their teaching and how they interact with the students.

In what ways have you seen your children grow in their faith as a result of their experience at LCS?
It’s been awesome to see how the kids have evolved from dressing up like animals for Noah’s Ark Day in kindergarten, to building a tabernacle replica in 9th grade, to complex Spirit-led discussions about faith later in high school. LCS teachers are so good at stretching the students’ faith in an age-appropriate way at every grade level. I’m so thankful to LCS for helping to grow my daughters’ hearts for God and for others.

Why did you choose to invest in a Christian education for your child at LCS?
We wanted our kids’ relationships with God to be part of their everyday lives. It was important to my husband and I that they see God’s hand in math, science, social studies…all the subjects!

How has LCS prepared your child for the future?
I trust my daughters will be just fine in the “real world” someday because of their years at LCS. Academically, there is no doubt my kids have learned good study habits and will be well-prepared for their futures. Their faith roots will be deep, they have had good role models in the teachers at LCS, and have been taught how to use wisdom and love to move through the world as children of God.
