Dr. Jeremy Zajicek Biography

Dr. Zajicek’s (pronounced Zī-check) journey into head of school leadership is compelling. Twelve years ago, while thriving in a distinguished business career, Jeremy began to feel called to something more. Over the next two years, that desire continued to grow, and it became clear that God was preparing Jeremy’s heart for a question that would be asked by one of his spiritual mentors: “Would you leave your corporate career to become a head of school.”

Jeremy’s dream as a young man was to live out his faith as a business leader. He earned a B.S. in business management and a M.S. in management as he began his business career. From early in his career, those who worked with Jeremy saw that his character and faith-filled values allowed him to excel in leadership roles. His responsibilities grew in each job as he gained valuable experience in customer service, finance, and human resources. As the demands of Jeremy’s career grew, he was always careful to prioritize his spiritual growth and investment in his church community. His service to the church and strong community relationships opened the door to head of school leadership beginning in 2015.

Jeremy used the experiences and skills he acquired in the business world, along with his faith-filled character and love for the church, to lead a small Christian school through a transformative process that resulted in national accreditation and incredible growth that has been sustained to this day. Still, God called him to a missional opportunity in Guam, where he led an open-enrollment college preparatory school of 1,000 students through the global pandemic by executing strategic leadership decisions, supporting staff, and making missional advancements despite the challenging circumstances. During his time in Guam, Jeremy continued to grow his knowledge and effectiveness by earning a Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership.

For the past decade, Jeremy has enjoyed the challenges and opportunities of head of school leadership in Christian education. He testifies of the goodness of God as he reflects on the skills and experiences that equipped him for leadership in Christian education. Jeremy’s love for learning and pursuit of effectiveness motivates him to be involved in education at all levels. He is an adjunct professor for two colleges in the business and organizational leadership departments. He also enjoys serving as a doctoral dissertation committee member, where he is involved in the leadership and mentorship of students seeking terminal degrees in education, business, and organizational leadership.

Jeremy and his wife, Jeanna, met at college and quickly grew to love each other. During 22 years of marriage, they have remodeled homes together, taken many cross-country road trips, and enjoyed the blessings of life together. God has blessed Jeremy and Jeanna with six children. Brone is a Junior at Hampden-Sydney College. Charlotte is a freshman at Sweet Briar College, Natalie is a junior, Eli is in 9th grade, Judah is in 7th grade, and Thea is in 3rd grade.
