Who We Are
Lansing Christian School was established in 1951 by a group of families who had a vision for a Preschool-12 Christian school that would be vigorously academic and thoroughly Christian. For more than 70 years LCS has partnered with Christian parents. Now we see alumni bringing their children, and even grandchildren, for a Christian education that transforms and inspires lives.

Lansing Christian School is seeking applicants for substitute teachers for all grade levels (preschool-12th grade). Applicants should have 60 hours of college credit. Education background is preferred but not necessary.

Director of Food Service
Lansing Christian School is seeking a skilled and motivated full-time Director of Food Service to lead and manage all aspects of our school’s food program. This position plays a vital role in the day-to-day life of our students and staff by providing high-quality, nutritious meals in a safe, welcoming, and well-run kitchen environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role, ideal for someone who is passionate about food, hospitality, and service and who is excited to contribute to the mission of Christian education in the LCS community. The Director of Food Service will oversee kitchen operations, staff supervision, vendor management, budgeting, and ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare and serve daily lunches, snacks, and a la carte items
- Manage food purchasing, inventory, and vendor relationships
- Supervise, schedule, and train food service staff
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and oversee routine maintenance
- Collaborating with the Director of Business and Finance on budgeting and cost control
- Support food service for special school events
Professional qualifications and experience:
Candidates should have relevant experience in food service management, with an associate’s degree or equivalent preferred. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of food safety standards and commercial kitchen operations and be capable of working on their feet in a fast-paced environment. The position requires the ability to lift 20 pounds. Comfort using basic technology tools, including email, spreadsheets, and food service software is also required.

Freshmen Volleyball Coache
Lansing Christian School is accepting applications for the positions of Freshmen Girls Volleyball Coach. Candidates must be committed to the mission of Christian education and invite, nurture and empower student athletes to serve Christ. The optimal candidate is able to demonstrate leadership skills in player and staff development, sportsmanship, integrity and character growth. Qualified candidates should possess strong communication and organizational skills. Candidates must demonstrate exceptional knowledge of the skills and strategies in the
sport of volleyball as it pertains to interscholastic athletics in Michigan.
Essential Responsibilities
- Foster among the participants and spectators an appreciation of the values of athletics, a desire
to perform at the highest level, an attitude of good sportsmanship, and a sense of pride in self,
team, school, and community. - Direct the training, conditioning, and performance in all aspects of the volleyball program.
Lead and supervise the assistant coaches (if applicable) in their efforts with teams assigned to
them. - Demonstrate current knowledge of strength and conditioning programs for volleyball. Execute
such programs during the off-season within the parameters of MHSAA regulations. - Emphasize the importance of academic excellence and assist in monitoring and maintaining
high academic standards for members of the volleyball program. - Promote the volleyball program and athletic department programs within the school and
community. Demonstrate ability to provide leadership for coaches and athletes and to serve as a
positive role model in all aspects of the coaching profession. - Works under the direction of the Athletic Director in fulfilling their duties and responsibilities

Lansing Christian School is currently seeking an individual to be a preschool classroom aide this school year, starting immediately. Compensation is based on experience. and pay is hourly, from 7:45am to 3:15 pm each day. Candidates should have a heart for young children and the patience and ability to connect with them.
