Kindergarten

A Strong Beginning

The early years move quickly, and they matter deeply. At Lansing Christian School, we partner with parents who desire strong academic preparation and a Christ-centered foundation for life. Kindergarten is a formative year when biblical truths taught at home are reinforced daily by caring teachers committed to helping each child grow in wisdom, character, and confidence.

Our full-day kindergarten program welcomes children who are five by September 1. Learning is joyful and purposeful as students begin building skills and habits that will serve them for years to come. Every subject is approached from a Christian worldview that believes truth is objective and grounded in God’s Word. By combining strong academics with spiritual formation, we prepare children not only for first grade but for a lifetime of faithful learning and living.

Program Distinctives

Spiritual & Character Formation
Scripture is the foundation of everything we teach, and biblical truth is integrated into all subjects and activities. Through Bible lessons, daily prayer, weekly chapel worship, and service projects, Kindergarteners deepen their faith and character while growing academically.

Small Class Sizes & Parent Partnership
We believe parents have the primary responsibility for their children’s education, and we’re here to support them. Teachers provide individualized attention to students and maintain close communication with parents, fostering healthy relationships that support each child’s growth.

Close-Knit, Structured Classrooms
Students learn cooperation, self-control, respect, and social skills in a classroom with clear expectations and a focus on character formation. Curiosity, problem-solving, creativity, perseverance, and collaboration are encouraged daily.

Active, Hands-On Learning
Engaging activities spark curiosity and love of learning, and help students develop an age-appropriate understanding of the core liberal arts subjects.

Exceptional Educators
Our dedicated faculty and staff recognize that each child is uniquely created by God. They ensure that students are known, loved, and encouraged to grow to the full extent of their God-given abilities.

A Safe Environment
Parents have peace of mind knowing that campus safety is a priority. Protocols include structured drop-off/pick-up procedures, thorough staff and volunteer background checks, and clear visitor policies. Additionally, our school features:

  • Secured, locked entrances during school hours
  • Surveillance in parking lots, hallways, and key areas
  • A rapid alert communication system
  • Strong relationships with local law enforcement and first responders

Educational Continuity
Children thrive in stable, supportive environments. At LCS, kindergartners move seamlessly into our elementary program and continue through middle and high school on a single campus. Familiar faces, lasting friendships, and a community rooted in Christian values create a vibrant, nurturing learning community.
