History and Doctrinal Statement

“That they might set their hope in God.” – Psalm 78:7

Lansing Christian School was established in 1951 by a group of families who shared a desire and vision for Christian instruction based on the infallible Word of God. The constitution they wrote, which still governs our school today, states that the purpose of Lansing Christian School is to give the youth of the community weekday instruction that aligns with our Doctrinal Statement and equips them, as children of God, to take their places worthily in society, church, and state. For seventy-five years, LCS has partnered with Christian parents to deliver on that mission. Today, we see alumni entrusting their children, and even grandchildren, to LCS because they know it to be an institution that educates students to the full extent of their God-given abilities.

Doctrinal Statement

  • We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe that there is one God, the source, support, and end of all things, eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; in His Virgin Birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory.
  • We believe that for salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
  • We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
  • We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved, unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost, unto the resurrection of damnation.
  • We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
