Teachers Learning in Community
Over the course of the year, LCS teachers are participating in eight days of professional development with a leader from the Center for the Advancement of Christian Education and the Teaching for Transformation Network.
Between professional development days, preschool through twelfth grade teachers come together in Professional Learning Teams (PLTs). Once each month, teams of four teachers share their work and receive feedback from colleagues. Each team is comprised of teachers from different grade levels and subject areas. We bring samples of student work, photos of class activities, and student reflections to collaborate around the learning opportunities we are designing for students to apply their knowledge and skills to meet real needs for real people. This deeply collaborative model includes all LCS teachers, allowing for a multifaceted perspective on LCS students’ learning experiences.
LCS teachers are committed to learning and growing together. We are being transformed as both learners and teachers as we equip students to engage the world for Jesus Christ.
